personally don't use this one, but a lot of these manga reader sites have very persnickety drm (I believe fanza has it's own file format for example), if there's no obvious download option then so you'd probably have to use some sort of scrapper to get things off it. Inspect element and finding the img source might also work, but very time consuming as you'd have to do it for each page.

in some cases there's decrypting scripts floating around for their file formats but I don't know if anyone's bothered to make the same for other sites. People tend to only make them for reader sites that handle R18 stuff.

did you try gallery-dl? it doesnt support all sites but it can undo the drm ghosts-san is talking about. sometimes

I appreciate the thought out responses, I was definitely reading things that weren't in the posts into them because of my own past experiences, we agree much more than I initially thought, sorry about the confrontational attitude.
Shoutout to nuance fr, I think I just felt a knee-jerk reaction to defend the cringe-kids cuz I was similar myself when I was younger, and I try to push back on my own feelings of rejection of the younger generation because of that. It definitely does make sense for marketing in a post-TikTok world to have these bite sized rough ideas to communicate ideas as quickly as possible, but I agree that we're worse off for it.

i worked in marketing for a bit, and this is maybe the most extreme example of something i've seen people call aesthetic affiliation. by listing a bunch of subcultural labels i.e. "traumacore", pastel gore, and so on - the game markets itself directly to people who identify with those labels. a lot of larger indie games use this strategy because word of mouth is the cheapest form of marketing, and building a community around a recognisable aesthetic is both inexpensive and effective, whether or not the person doing it fully understands the strategy themselves.

this is an unusually concentrated and clumsy example. it seems more concerned with repeatedly validating the reader’s than appealing to anyone outside its intended subculture, although i can respect that commitment to an extent. search visibility is unfortunately extremely important on the modern internet, including steam, and the developer is clearly trying to fill the description with recognisable terms that might improve discoverability. they’re just integrating them very poorly. i'm not fond of this strategy at all and much prefer the tried and true method recent games like "beastfolk barber" implement

It's also realistically the 'capitalism doesn't give people time to think' so going off of those markers is easier than examining the page and reviews to see if you'd like something (at least in theory )

And of course inexperience in the marketing side from the dev, saying what's cool about a thing without just recounting the whole plot and 50 things that do not matter is hard enough if you didn't make the thing, but the author often has a lot of things floating in their brain that make it hard to imagine what it looks like for the audience on a first impression

why do you like it

tkmiz's previous releases, girls last tour and shimeji simulation both followed a small core cast of characters for the entire time. as the title and opening illustration suggest, we're going to see different aspects of the megastructure in each chapter. i really did like the two in the first chapter but i don't think we'll see them again

I really enjoyed what has been published so far.
I've never been assigned to a submarine, but I have been assigned to a very small DDG during my time in the Navy, and it struck me as very well crafted. I can tell when an Author has researched their work very well by how it matches with my lived experiences, sometimes.

Milya[broken] by lol_rust is a game I sincerely enjoy very much, despite it being clunky and having lots of strange, counterintuitive gameplay throughout.

One of the biggest draws for me is the titular Milya herself, who's probably the single most relatable character I've found in any game to date; but honestly, I've taken a ton of inspiration from the design and aesthetic of the game for my own works, too~

To be sure, objectively speaking, it's an opaque, obtuse, and generally inscrutable game. It took me multiple playthroughs to decipher it in full, even with how powerfully it resonated with me from the start. And naturally, it's entirely reasonable to want to criticize it for its unapproachability—but when you take the entirety of the game and its fundamental premise into consideration, it becomes clear that these design decisions were all deliberate, forcing the player to interact with the game in a specific kind of way in order to create a very particular experience~

Now, whether most players would think said experience is worth having, and whether it's worth trudging through the maze-like design of the game and its narrative for it, is another question entirely, heh. But I absolutely adore it, and I wish more people would give it a chance and stick with it to the end~
