continuing from >>3mqn3mrgwms23 - there is clearly a demand for a more diverse array of boards.

two obvious gaps were /c/ - creatives and /aca/ - academic topics. those now exist.

what i'm currently deliberating is:
- is /a/ fine as a catch-all for geeks - or should we split things into their own categories
- and if so, what are those boards?

i think i just like a little confused whether it meant otaku in the sense of like "nerd" or like anime manga vns etc in the other thread, like i think u probably shouldn't have too many boards until theres a decent userbase but idk where the line is

>>3mqnmkidqru25
otaku isnt clear i see that - we didn't define it - but to me, when i was suggesting otaku, is that likely the folks gravitate to this board are some flavor of otaku, and us otakus have a broad interests..... whych i think will be reflected naturally in /a

a shitty atchan

i still think at least vidya and anime/manga/etc should get their own boards, just so other nerd threads have room to grow

i think i actually prefer the idea that video games Not get their own board and remain consolidated with other Works You Are Enjoying Type Threads because i think it's like. good to encourage people to engage a wide variety of things and not just video games.

this could totally be a predictive misfire and it mmight be fine but generally speaking catering to or organizing things to the favor of people who Literally Only Play Video Games can turn into serious and life threatening vibe poison

2nd this, and i like idea of avoiding atchan from other already establish boards - 'vidya' being distinctively 4chan.

tech board definition expansion? maybe into something like tech+machinery, engines nd the like. feels a little out of place if i were to make a gearhead thread on the computer board but the two subjects are def more related than to leave it in random. could b worth smthn.

could maybe broaden /tech/ to mean "technology" in general. tho i think computers and mechanics are fairly distinct fields

this is really nice! would people kill me for suggesting she has one (1) band-aid on her knee

I will say it does concern me that image uploads don't seem to be processed whatsoever, its rare but I know exploits exist and processing them all to jpg with imagemagick or something like that would strip anything like that and probably improve compatibility and save on storage, doesn't have to be a lossy format either I suppose, and being able to have lossless uploads is super nice, so maybe this is already being done and I didn't notice because file names and types are carried over.

From the FAQ:
>We strip EXIF tags from uploaded images to preserve your privacy. The orientation tag is kept so photos don't get rotated the wrong way[...].
