Site rules

atchan is a lighthearted image board. In order to make things not suck for everyone we enforce rules on all parts of the site.

Boards may add rules of their own on top of these; see board rules.

The rules

  1. You must leave this site immediately if you are not of age in your region.
  2. Post images & discussions in the appropriate places.
    i.e. - don't post cat pictures in the creatives board, or your vacation pictures on the 2D boards, etc.
  3. If a thread for your topic already exists, reply to that thread instead of making a new one. Use discretion if the thread is very old.
  4. The following is explicitly not welcome:
    1. Racist, nazi, or fascist content
    2. Stalking behavior or "lolcows"
    3. Real life gore, excessively violent or shock content
    4. Wojack, Pepe, any variation or derivative
    5. *oomer memes (zoomer, boomer, coomer)
    6. "Greentext stories"
    7. Posts intended to annoy or enrage other users without even having the decency to provide LOLs, including needlessly angry/argumentative posts.
  5. You will not spam or flood the boards
  6. You will not upload or link to anything that may pose a danger to the user
  7. You will not share photos of real people to exploit them
  8. You will not post NSFW frawings or 3DCG renders that are photo-realistic in nature
  9. You will not share or promote anything illegal in our host country (Sweden)

Rules may be enforced with a small amount of discretion from the moderators. You are in no way entitled to anything on this site, and your ability to use it can be taken away without notice, or reason.

You ban some very specific behavior

We are somewhat prescriptive with what we choose to allow on the site. This is because this site is not for everybody. We have found that it is best to be clear about this to not drag down the site culture.

Targeting specific 4chan culture elements was inspired by Heyuri's Rule 8. That place is better for it. We thought the same methodology could apply.

Reporting

If you spot something that breaks these rules, you can report it while logged in using the post's action menu. For anything that you'd rather raise directly, email abuse@atchan.net.
