what happened?
our PDS hit 100 users, which led to us being considered throttled by bluesky's relay. these new accounts had no records being forwarded to atchan, so they are not visible. the relay is something of a middle man, giving us the records we care about without having to index every PDS in the universe.
stopgap
for our own users we now ask our own server directly instead of going through the middleman. this is a temporary measure, as there are a number of ugly correctness side effects of doing this.
the REAL fix
i have to ask the relay operator (bsky) to raise our limit. hopefully i can get this done soon
