i'm mostly making this thread to extol the work of Takahiro Kato, specifically his 2008 album Loveplex. it's an electronic/chiptune album that has quite a few tracks that are just very interesting. there's a good amount of vocal sampling which sounds really pleasant to me against the square waves, some ambient elements, some beats which sound like metroid, some which sound like kirby, it's a good time. very inspirational to me in the degree of range on display, particularly when it comes to the arrangements..
it can be found here: https://label.16dimensional.com/16d010/. i would also recommend checking out some of the other albums published under 16dimensional records... there's some cool and cute stuff.
are there any obscure peaks you'd like to extol, anon?
i listened to this and i liked it quite a bit. thank you for sharing it. i really enjoyed all the different noises, there was a variety of noises i havent heard in chiptune before. it felt like the noises were playing in front of me and i got to watch them having fun
