When you are on the computer or your phone, what sort of activities or websites inspire happiness, creativity, wholeness, the joy that makes one lovable to another. Instead of activities that make you feel bad or inspire feelings of doom, pain, anger, despair, etc, so on and so forth.

I feel like everything on the computer makes me feel bad now, or it makes me feel good momentarily but then makes my life worse in the long term (social media, porn). But i am trying to focus back on what is pleasurable and good for my soul

Lately I've been enjoying browsing atchan! and I also like looking at wikipedia but my brain doesnt work well most of the time and it becomes hard to parse the information. I want to hear about what everyone else is doing on the computer that makes them happy

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrbkA8CXy8uetXNV3BkZp4YUSAKrRQQTw i have a 30yo white girl playlist for this, but it isn't very curated.

https://www.youtube.com/@erichatcher6324 lately i am really interested in meatball

filling your time w/ a simple language learning app is a good way to 'waste' time, though you have to be careful if you wanna sincerely learn a language. i need to get back in the habit of doing kanji flashcards where i would normally be scrolling social media

I've been stuck inside my house for a really really long time now, and my computer is kinda the only access I have to things outside the house. So it might seem funny if I say that I'm often on my phone taking pictures - do phones count? I like to spend time editing them, it makes me feel pretty good.

Also I like to play a lot of Minecraft, and I did it on my own for a long time but now I'm on a server so I like to build stuff for others. When I had more time I did a lot of writing, too. It takes a lot of effort though, and I'm so burnt out lately I haven't in quite a while.

this is going to sound unhinged but i have been having a lot of fun getting a plaintext accounting setup going lately

otherwise im mainly just talking to my friends, checking what people are up to in the niche subcultures im a part of, reading message boards and such, digging for new music to discover, etc. ive mostly quit social media at this point

edit after reading the previous reply, ive also been getting really into photography and processing my raws in stupid ways that look awesome, it's super fun

Wikipedia editing, though that sometimes did led to frustations (arguing with other editors, vandals, and gatekeepers of ITN and DYK)
also just reading random documents i have, its fun to just search something and add filetype:pdf to see what comes out

reading everything (homestuck.com, beyondcannon.com, tatchiyomi, mangago.me) and listening to music especially gabber music ( soulseek, soulseekqt, deadbeef)

webcomics webseries indie animation indie books indie games etc all really really good

but also i invite everyone to set a timer for a couple hours and turn off the internet, see what you naturally gravitate to on your pc. i like to make up funny games for myself for example. drawing/writing is also great fun even if youre not "good" bc its also fun for yourself, especially if you turn it into a game like drawing your way through a randomly generated dnd dungeon or a dumb obstacle course youve designed. you can also look up random shit youre curious about like the manufacturer website of the nearest thing to you

basically, all the fun things to do on the computer are still there [you can even play archived flash games or itch io browser demos] you just have to peel yourself off of the like three websites everyone is on and remember what else is there
