What has scared you recently? My sleep quality has declined and lately and I've woken up startled by my room draped in black webs or barbed wire while a figment of my imagination looms over my bed, instanly disapearing. Durring the day I'll rarely see insects apear then disappear from my peripheral vision.

I regularly have nightmares about customers who resist service. I'll be trying to help them with something but they will purposely do things wrong out of spite. usually when i dream about something scary that doesn't involve people it's at least a novelty... the dreams about people are like being visited by demons who also walk the waking world

i get this too. i see shadow men and home intruders and i wake up with adrenaline. this happens most nights. i dont have any wakeful hallucinations, though.

this scared me enough that i saw a doctor about it. the night stuff is a common symptom of sleep apnea. my doctor suggested a sleep study for me which is scheduled in august.(・A・)

hopefully that goes well for you. i've noticed myself involuntarily holding my breath while falling asleep a couple times. interesting to know the two are linked. i don't think i'd fare too well at a sleep study. i struggle to fall asleep anywhere other than my own bed.

if you start choking at night that is +1 for sleep apnea... just going off the list of symptoms

im not looking forward to the actual event either - i hope i can get some sleep and some answers. same for u as well!

i get sleep paralysis when i nap or try to sleep at an odd time (outside the bounds of when i sleep for the night). i often see similar things to that but theres a prominent auditory element for me.
do you sleep at irregular times? that might not be the culprit (sounds like sleep apnea) but it could definitely make it worse

It is really embarrassing but I have a trio of local raccoons who enjoy exploring my windowsill between 1:00 and 3:00 AM or so. They aren't scary in and of themselves - I flashed them with the flashlight when I first encountered them and it was clear that they're far more afraid of me than I am of them as they went trundling off into the dark, but also, I a stone window sill and there's plastic siding on the house, so their nails make a terrible racket as they explore that sounds like a horrorterror entering through your window.

It scares the hell out of me, and I think it's kind of prompted some of the nightmares and sleeplessness I've struggled with lately.

constant nightmares every night. sometimes so bad i wake up, fall back asleep, and the same nightmare continues. makes the idea of going to bed difficult.

I sleep at fairly normal times and I don't nap. I'm highly sensitive to my environment though which makes things difficult. My upstairs neighbors love to stomp their feet and set off the fire alarm late at night.

If you remember them, what kind of things do you experience in your nightmares?

i get sleep paralysis a ton ever since elementary school usually on a weekly basis sometimes every night or several times a night. the audio stuff is super big for me too. usually sleep paralysis revolves around religion or computers or both for me. ᓚᘏᗢ
im neet and my sleep schedule is totally random like any 24 hours of the day can be when i fall asleep but ive always been super super shitty with sleep my whole life and also have bad mental shit too so all probably contributes u.u
sleep paralysis isnt really scary for me even when theres scary stuff happening i just find it pretty interesting or annoying depending on the hallucination

deltarune honestly. the amount of weird cryptic secret stuff and the Weird Route are so interesting and the sheer mystery and creepiness of it all makes us feel like a kid getting scared by creepypasta again. we're caught awake at night creeped out and thinking abt it sometimes. i think this feeling is exactly what the team are going for.

i can't help but wonder how much of this is possible due to the fact that we currently have an incomplete story due to the episodic releases, and how all this will feel and be put in context once we get to the end.

this is actually exactly how ive always felt about .flow. ive been playing ynfgs like my whole life and its like the only games i play ive played hundreds and what i love about .flow is how what you have to do really feels like a creepypasta. it feels more like some kind of rumor youd read about on like uboachan than a real ynfg. its the only game i can think of thats ever truly scared and shocked me. i really wish i could replay it for the first time again. if you dont play ynfgs you probably wont find it very scary or interesting though...
ive tried to play through undertale and deltarune many times now but i jsut find it so boring i cant sit through it,,, i think mainly just b.cus undertale has been around since i was a kid now so im sort of already super familiar with where that game goes and stuff but reading what you have to say abt deltarune makes me really wanna try to get through it again~

i'd definitely encourage you to give it a shot! i'll say that most of the stuff is pretty hidden or obtuse in a way that a lot of ppl not steeped in like the theory/fan space may not come across many of them, so it kinda depends on how you feel about hunting for secrets or using guides lol.

ヽ(´ー`)ノ I always had a lot of nightmares. Ive started kinda enjoying them. Almost all of my dreams are about nuclear war these days. Bombs falling and tanks rolling down the streets of my hometown. I always wake up when I realize my hometown holds no strategic value to any army. Its thrilling though its like a horrour movie.

as a hopeless stoner i've recently been trying to smoke a little bit earlier in the afternoon so that i don't have to deal with auditory hallucinations at night in an empty house. i remember one night recently when, on a couple different things, i was laying in my bed watching something on my laptop at ~2am, when i began to hear what sounded like a group of 3-4 people having conversation and laughing on the floor above me, unusual given i knew i was in an empty house. it took me maybe 8 seconds to really realize what i was hearing, like it was increasing in volume over time, but as soon as i tried to focus on the sound it faded away. in retrospect it was an interesting experience though i was pretty freaked out at first. cooler than my more frequent 'hearing a voice in the bubbling water of my fish tanks'

i used to get auditory hallucinations as a child whenever i would shower. it always sounded like people arguing over something one room over. in recent memory i had a bizzare sleep paralysis dream where i heard a woman on the other side of my door saying random numbers. that one stayed in my mind for a while due to how bizzare it was.

Have had hallucinations & delusions for over a decade, they usually subside in the presence of other people though. One of the worst ones was a few years ago while living in the mountains. Was working on college papers late at night in a bedroom, looked up and saw a spindly creature with big eyes leaning into the window, staring, before it pulled away from the window. Conpletely lost it and dead-sprinted into the living room.

last time i did "lsd" with friends everyone got scared but me and it was disappointing, just got a quick spook cause i couldnt find my girlfriend but personally my own neurotic tendencys have made me more scared than in the influence of drugs or maybe i just need higher doses..

i think one of my biggest fears as of recent have been my own dreams. (cw: sexual)

for instance, a few months i had a dream about having sexual relationships with friends i am not particularly sexually attracted to (one of which has a partner) and knocking out a close family member with a slap. the friends from before witnessed me do that and started yelling sentences along the lines of "how could you do this" at me.

after i woke up i felt extremely guilty and disgusted at myself. i ruined my sleep schedule for a while just to avoid having a similar dream again.

last night when trying to go to bed we had our usual "what if there's a scary guy" anxiety and whipped the pillow off our face to look up, but something about how our eyes perceived this movement triggered like pareidolia where we thought we saw a face moving at us in the dark. it scared the shit out of us and kept us up for like another hour and a half and we had to sleep with a light on.

A couple months ago, I was at work and it was dead slow. We were getting no business, and so I was just leaning against a wall while staring at our empty lobby. Then out of no where I heard these really loud footsteps march up to me and this loud, sharp scream right into my left ear. Made me jump and look around, and nobody was even close to me. All my coworkers were in a totally separate room. That was my first time experiencing an auditory hallucination, so it genuinely scared the piss out of me.

oh how so?

really really loved the song near the end of the stream (redman's lament) and found from the comments of the youtube video upload of it that it was a cover of "aria of the soul"
