I ended up kinda appreciating it on it's own terms by the end of the arc, but its the weakest part of the show for sure. Such a bizarre whiplash from the arc before it.

we recently finished nadia and ended up skipping most of those eps lol, its really night and day when the regular arc picks back up again. such a lovely series overall

just finished it tonight and the contrast is insane. crazy to think that evangelion was originally planned as a sequel but i totally see the throughline. im really glad i finally watched it and im really glad i know i never need to watch island arc again
