What anime have you all been keeping up with this summer? I've been getting really into Sayonara Lara, Draw This Then Die, and Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You which have all been pretty good so far!
Watching a lot of shows since its the start of the season, I'll probably only finish half of these. Standouts (minus multi season stuff) so far have been Victoria of Many Faces, the new GITS, and Otome Kaijuu.

Smoking with You has been really comfy, captures the vibe of manga well.
I've kept up with a fair amount of this summer's lineup but I most look forward to Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia, Goodbye Lara, Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games and Kaiju Girl Caramelise.
Kaiju Girl hits the sweet spot for me in het pairings where the guy is nice but not to the point of artifice, has an idea of the mc hiding something but socially conscious enough to let her reveal the secret on her own. Pacing is pretty slow but making it last a season is kind of a genre prerequisite (Nakamura-Kun made it reasonable with being a gay pairing)
Hard to come up with stuff to say for my other picks other than they're good
new GITS and Jaadugar, frankly watching any amount of seasonal anime is rare for me so it's nice to be watching a couple now. both are refreshingly visually stylish, which I value above almost anything else these days.

kamina botan is technically spring but its in season for me i thought it was dogshit. hate watch for me.
madoka is technically a part of this season but i doubt we will see it in any viewable form in the west for another year (˘･з･˘)
i too have been really enjoying Draw This Then Die. all 3 of the episodes i've seen so far have moved me to tears. am just a big softie towards anything that's about making art, and the myriad of relationships people have with their own art.
Jaadugar is spectacular. so rooted in the lived-in details of its historical period in a way that really inspires me. i love how the gorgeous art style doesn't dramatize any of the horrors the show portrays, but instead gives them a matter-of-factness that feels really natural.
otherwise i've watched a couple episodes of Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games. it's okay. i think i'd be more invested if they weren't playing SF6. i've also got GitS, KimiShinu, Goodbye Lara, Chainsmoker Cat and Smoking Behind the Supermarket downloaded. doubt i'll finish them all but it's been fun exploring seasonal anime again.
Started: The World is Dancing
I was impressed by the use of gestural drawing and staggered animation in some of the dance sequences but the contemplation of art's place in a world with material inequality is a timeless subject, perfect for a period drama.
Not this season, but been waiting for the second cour of Lulutto Lilly

Yeah! Draw This, Then Die is so cute! I too am a fan of anime about creatives, so it's right up that alley. I also really the message of art not needing to be skilled in order to be important. I think that's a really sweet message, especially when there's so much pressure on new creators to have to make everything perfect in order for it to be remotely worth anyone's time.
Goodbye Lara - If I were Lara, I'd marry Mari to have access to her father's film lab, complete with developer, enlarger and most likely a scanning setup.

started watching jaadugar yesterday and WOW - im hooked. total slam dunk show of the year? never in my life thought i would see anime and islam at the same time. kind of just love everything about it

doing some dig. this is abel gongora's directorial debut. his previous major roles were for inu-oh, garden of remembrance, and the night is short, walk on girl. he was working under guidance of naoko yamada (dir. heike monogatari, hibike euphonum, a silent voice) for many of these productions, and now he gets to step up for this show. this show reminded me a lot of heike monogatari in tone, so there is a overlap there since yamada is also chief director for this work.
pic is from the manga. i think its a super faithful adaptation in style - they carry the french comic book style well. reminds me a bit of persepolis (2007) which also takes place in iran (although far in the future). i wonder if there is some shared dna there?

If you enjoyed Persepolis, I would recommend Palestine by Joe Sacco. Especially any version with the foreword by Edward Said
mushoku tensei season 3 has been hitting for me, i was not expecting a realistic depiction of polyamory instead of a typical harem.
the character development throughout this story has been so strong. i really appreciate the strong sense of mortality and mystery as well, like this season has largely just been slice of life wish fulfillment but it is given an undertone of anxiety and impermanence that i really appreciate.
definitely going to read the light novel after this season finishes its run, i'm smitten.
chainsmoker cat has been amazing, the OP gives chainsaw man with every shot showing its film brainrot, the characters are messes in both relatable and extremely funny ways. its some freakmedia in its form, like it leans on fetishes in ways i really wasnt expecting, idk its been an excellent time
GITS rules, didnt know what to expect after dandadan s2 (was worried like....maybe saru is washed, and theyre doing 2 shows in the same season....), but wow its been fantastic??? really really liking the tone, i liked how grim the oshii film was, but im loving how much time and character everyones getting?
Lara is solid, im mostly watching for how beautiful it is, its definitely a fun time.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm cour 2 continues to be excellent, its been keeping the wellwoven intrigue id expect from the fma mangaka while still having excellent tone/pacing? I loveeeeeee that were still getting longform shonen like this, really feels like a genre we'd left behind, im so so so glad to see it cx

gotta say The Ghost in the Shell has really fed the part of my brain that wanted more Minakami Yuki circa Ch 1 & 2 of Subahibi. i think i have a type? im embarrassed by that. oh no.
